Save the date for 2013’s party!

Get out your smart phones and calendars and mark down the date for 2013’s Christmas Hamper Party, December 8th, from 1 pm – 7 pm!

In an exciting development the event is being relocated to the  Canadian College of Performing Arts (1701 Elgin) in Oak Bay, where we’ll have more space to gather together to work and enjoy live entertainment, more parking,  and easy access by public transit.  We’re excited to make his year’s party bigger and better than ever, and to break last year’s record number of hampers!

Check our menu list for items we still need to gather for the hampers, then let us know when you are coming and what you’ll be bringing by clicking the link HERE.

Can’t attend but want to make a financial contribution or a donation of non-perishable food items before the party December 8? Visit the DONATE page for more information on how you can help!

  1. My husband Aaron and I were so inspired by Joyce and Peter’s hamper party last year that we’ve decided to host our own! Our Hamper party is taking place on Saturday, December 15th from 12-6 p.m. at our home, 970 Falkland Road in Oak Bay. Anyone and everyone is welcome, the more the merrier! We are really looking forward to this new holiday tradition, and to fulfilling Joyce’s dream of making it a universal tradition.

If you can make it, please r.s.v.p., and if possible, let us know what you’ll be bringing. Every contribution makes a difference, and contributes to our goal of ensuring that everyone has a healthy and fresh meal for the holidays.

We look forward to meeting you! Happy Holidays!

    Sincerely,
    Aaron & Patricia Pearson

  2. That’s wonderful news, Patricia and Aaron! Please send us photos and updates from your party and we’ll add Oak Bay to our “Hampers Everywhere.” Don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s anything we can do to help. There are now hamper parties in Victoria, Oak Bay, Mississauga, and San Diego–we’re a mini-movement!

  3. Hi Joyce (and readers),

We are so pleased to report that our first ever Hamper Party was a huge success!

I have to admit we weren’t exactly sure what to expect for our first Christmas Hamper Party and whether or not it would catch on. We are so happy to report that any expectations we had were far exceeded! Nearly 50 people came out to celebrate the holidays and even more donated food and cash donations for the hampers. In the end we DOUBLED our goal of filling 5 hampers.

Saturday evening we delivered 10 overfilling hampers to the Salvation Army for distribution to families in need. Not only did each hamper have all of the items on the “hamper menu” including tons of fresh fruits and vegetables and necessities like milk, bread and eggs, they also had tons of extras – breakfast items, baking and chocolates, soup, and even Christmas swags and beautiful paper snowflakes.

There is only one disappointment – we forgot to take pictures until the hampers were loaded in the truck! Oh well, we have the memories 🙂

Again, a BIG thank you to everyone for your wonderful company Saturday, and for making the Hamper Party a HUGE success. We can’t wait for next year!

We wish you and yours a happy and healthy holiday.

    Sincerely,
    Aaron & Patricia Pearson

    • That’s wonderful news, Patricia. I announced it to the workers at our party. My sister’s San Diego party, which has been going for five years now, texted us near the end of our party to say they’d broken their record, too (they filled 62 hampers). It’s so exciting to see how, party by party, we’re changing the face of the holiday season!

      Happy holidays! Joyce
